COVID-19: Northern Region Records 2 New Cases
Test results for two persons in the Northern Region of Ghana have proven positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) through community infection.
Northern Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. John Eleeza who confirmed this to TV3’s News 360 on Tuesday evening said the test results were made available to them on the night of Monday, April 20.
Their samples were taken on April 17, 2020 and sent to the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) and it was confirmed that the one male and female had tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19).
He said contact tracing has started in earnest within the Tamale Metropolis (Northern Region).
Meanwhile Ghana’s recorded case is now One thousand and forty two (1,042), with nine (9) death, ninty nine (99) recovered and Nine hundred and thirty four (934) active.
Worldwide has now recorded Two million five hundred and fifty one thousand five hundred and thirty eight (2,551,538) cases, with One hundred and seventy seven thousand one hundred and seventy seven (177,177) death, Six hundred and eighty seven thousand seven hundred and sixty two (687,762) recovered and One million six hundred and eighty six thousand and five (1,686,005) active.
